Liverpool FC linked with Barcelona midfielder Rafinha

Rafinha

Reports in Spain claim that Liverpool Football Club could be interested in Barcelona midfielder Rafinha.

The 24-year-old isn’t officially available for transfer but it is suggested that the Catalan giants would be willing to include him in a deal for Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp wants to hold on to Coutinho and there are no suggestions that owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are trying to instigate a transfer. Some fans keep thinking back to John Henry’s attendance at Barcelona’s La Liga game against Leganes back in February and with the Americans having coming across as chancers to date, few trust them.

The official line from Anfield is that Coutinho isn’t for sale and we believe that stance. However, the player’s representatives are allegedly desperately trying to make a move to the Nou Camp happen and every player has a price, although we’re not convinced that Barcelona are willing to pay the mooted £72million valuation.

Rafina’s father and agent Mazinho recently hit out at suggestions that his son was looking for a move away from Barcelona following reports that a move to the Premier League or Brazilian side Flamengo could be on his agenda.

“This is absurd, I don’t know who started this,” Mazinho said.

“Rafinha has no interest in leaving Barcelona.

“We have a contract until 2020 and he will finish it normally.”

Juventus have also been linked with Rafinha who reportedly has a buy-out clause of approximately £64million.
