Lukaku left because he felt he didn't have the time to wait three or four seasons for Everton to kick on, same reason Torres left us because he thought time was moving on for him to win the games major honours. I think Everton like I said will end up with us, Spurs and Arsenal in a little group behind the big boys but if the rumours of Usimonov at Arsenal not being happy then if he does go to Everton then that will catapult them into the big three category with United, Chelsea and City... You seem confused, you just said before that Everton will be in the Liverpool/Spurs/Arsenal bracket. So even if they achieve that in 3:4 years what exactly would Lukaku be waiting for... The pay a Utd or Man City would give him..... Everton are going to start paying Man City wages in 3 years time?

Lukaku felt he should of been winning Leagues and champions leagues and he wasn't doing that at Everton so moved to a club that will provide him with that platform, Everton will certainly improve but won't reach that level unless Usimonov gets onboard which up to now he hasn't looked like doing but as we know things in football can change... You can't quite make up your mind. You suggested Lukaku couldn't wait the 3-4 years for Everton to kick on...as if in 3-4 years they'd be challenging for titles.

Spurs don't pay Liverpool wages either. And we've only seen this kind of spending from their owner due to the Lukaku money and TV money....

That's why Spurs are going to struggle to hold onto those players, Walker has left, Rose is looking to move, how long before the likes of Ali/Eriksen want a move if big bucks are offered, I'm surprised Barca haven't come in for Ericsen, he's a very good player and would fit into their system well as an attacking midfielder, Spurs would probably sell if they offered £80+million.

No way would Levy sell at 80M. Why would he settle for less than what Lukaku gets when he's comfortably better.

But I agree, I think they need to win something this season if any hope of keeping hold of their better players and Levy is going to have to increase wages. Their stadium decision whilst a step in the right direction couldn't have come at a worse time IMO.

I think the stadium move has put allot of pressure on them, but Levy is notorious for being hard work on negotiations, so your probably right, he would want similar money to what we want for Coutinho, they are similar players for what they do for the team unlocking defences, if we sold Coutinho, he would be my first choice to replace him, but we'd have to pay the same money we sold Coutinho for I bet !

Id love Kane at Liverpool but sadly that's very unlikely to happen

@ so your a tranmere fan then ???
I get your sentiment , the only reason I want to see Everton have success is because it just might be the thing to get LFC to clean up their act, and fans to suddenly have higher expectations ,
Example : Everton finish 4th : LFC win UCL Everton nearly finish 4th 13/14 also !!!
We are connected somehow .
Merseyside is a sleeping giant , Everton pushing top4 is good , when I was a kid growing up I despised the PC all there players and some of there fans, as you get older you mellow, grow up and have a different view of things. I myself are nor really emotionally connected to Liverpool F.C anymore the way football and the club have changed over the years, I still have my season ticket and attend home games because I still enjoy watching a footie match and also sitting by people I have known for years so enjoy the banter. I think my view of the Club now is probably better, more balanced and nearer to the truth now simply because I am not emotionally attached like I was before and my judgement is not clouded or biased, I am not bitter towards the Club, far from it, I am very lucky and privileged to of seen what I have and more than a lot of people on this forum can only dream about regarding success, so am grateful to the old club for giving me that, those memories can't be taken away from me so...deffo not bitter... On the contrary, your work friend seems to disagree when he made his little appearance in here to back you up. You're definitely bitter about the direction the club has taken. You don't think you have any emotional connection to the club anymore but still go to games and come on to a Liverpool forum? Okay maybe you're just lonely...

I've genuinely never seen you put anyone on this forum in their place. The club views match attending fans as a very small slice of the pie now, that's why they prefer OOTers now. You're secondary for them.
You seemed to have side stepped my points on Everton, however.. have you just been put in your place?
