You think top players will move to Everton in 3 years because they have a new stadium and give out tickets to youngsters?

If they pay the big bucks they will, like they joined Chelsea & Man City, not that I expect Everton to match those payments, they will be run as a business like we are.

Their owner isn't going to do that.

I think the owner is just trying to raise them to the level to compete for Europe etc, he's not super rich like Chelsea or City, he wants them to be self sufficient and keep hold of their best players.

If Everton got a Rooney coming through now, they would not have to sell unless the player wanted to leave, like they have had to with Lukaku.

They are coming from behind us, so needed more players out of which 2 or 3 would have improved our squad. They also spent more than us in the last window and currently more than us, so they are showing more intent though they probably won't be able to catch up over 2 windows. If we both continue our respective trends, then they have a good chance of overtaking us in a couple of seasons.

They've only bought players that would suit their position. The only player they bought that could improve us is Keane. If they were showing real intent then they'd have kept Lukaku and bought fewer players but of a higher standard.

This is their owner trying to win their fans over by just buying everyone he can. Trouble is they're all average and if you think just buying average players will make them better than us then you're wrong.

Who they buy depends a lot on their manager, an owner can only show intent by spending as they are not supposed to choose the players. Keeping Lukaku was not really an option as the player had made up him mind long ago, even before the end of last season, a bit same as our situation with Suarez. So currently, for me, their owner is showing more intent than ours unless it's our manager who for whatever reasons doesn't want to spend, but this we'll find out in a couple of weeks. Whether they are successful or not will depend on who their manager bought and used the players.

If they were going in the right direction Lukaku would have wanted to go. Buying a load of average players doesn't keep your best players.

no not at all top players will only come to a club that will pay them 200k a week and win Leagues and champions leagues, if you can't offer them that then they won't come, clubs like Liverpool, Everton and Spurs, possibly Arsenal will always be stepping stone clubs for players working there way up to super Clubs like Barca, United, Chelsea, City, Madrid and possibly PSG...

Well you just said you think those players will go to Everton in years time when they have a new stadium and set the foundations. Now you've retreated from that claim?

In 3 years you said. Everton don't have the funds to pay for top players, even with a new stadium.

You seem confused, you just said before that Everton will be in the Liverpool/Spurs/Arsenal bracket. So even if they achieve that in 3:4 years what exactly would Lukaku be waiting for...
