Klopp didn't issue the craven, embarrassing and humiliating apology, FSG did, so they've accepted responsibility. Why should anyone try to place the blame on someone who hasn't accepted responsibility?

They're the owners of the club so they will of course be releasing the statement. If you believe the reports (which I'm sure you must as you seem to believe everything you read), VVD met with Klopp, which seems to be the thing that got Southampton's goat. Did FSG know about this? Who knows? Maybe Klopp did this off his own back? Who knows?

If they don't regard themselves as responsible why take the responsibility and issue a craven, embarrassing and humiliating apology?

If an employee of a world renowned business makes an error which leads to an accusation, then investigation into the company they represent, then of course the owners and board members of that company will get involved and communicate their position.

It's clear to me that we've tapped up Van Dijk, it also appears that Klopp has been heavily involved as Van Dijk has apparently been impressed by his personal attempts to bring him to Liverpool.

FSG as owners of Liverpool Football Club, have to get involved when the club is reported to the Premiership. You cannot have a go at the owners for apologising which has probably saved us a transfer ban, which would have been disastrous.

We don't even know what Southampton were complaining about. We don't know if VVD met with Klopp or who set that up or sanctioned it. We don't know who leaked the details.

For those reasons I don't see how you can apportion blame to any one party as we know no facts. Obviously that won't stop you attacking FSG as you do at every little opportunity regardless of facts or who is to blame.

Well if they're responsible for the fu*k up! they're responsible and that's it, the buck stops with them. They were unable when they came in, and they're still unable. We've lost the opportunity to sign Klopp's first choice signing, despite his wanting to come here and had they managed the process right they'd have got him for around theoriginal 50m valuation which apparently they were prepared to pay...well at least some of them we're prepared to pay. Just how much incompetence are you prepared to tolerate from these mugs anyway?

Like I asked before that was well dodged with some anti FSG ball hang, how do you know Klopp didn't mess it up by having an unsanctioned meeting with the fella? What if it was some loose tongued employee who leaked the info that led to this?

FSG as owners will ultimately be held responsible but you don't know that they're to blame and there's a massive difference that your anti FSG agenda blinds you to.

I don't have an anti FSG agenda, I criticise them when they mess up, which unfortunately is all too often, and I have more than once praised them for their financial rectitude in terms of keeping the club on the financial straight and narrow. I also welcomed them when they first came here, but then I criticised them for subsequently adopting their moneyball policy, because I knew that while it suited their business plan, it would result in mediocrity on the pitch, and little to no trophy's. It's obvious that in your desperation to defend FSG regardless of how often they mess up, you have to try and impugn motives and some agenda or other to me. If your argument in defense of FSG could stand on it's own merits you wouldn't have to personalise things and attribute motives to me. Your position on this is totally bankrupt.

Again, please point to where I've defended anyone? No one knows what happened or who was responsible yet you constantly blame FSG? Maybe it's Klopp's fault for meeting him? Maybe it's the leaks fault? Maybe that leak was from the VVD camp?

There is any number of things that could've caused this collapse that weren't FSG's fault but you're so blinkered against them that you can't look at it objectively.

And please, I'm not personalising this but merely pointing out your eagerness to slate the owners despite no hard evidence. The fact you say my position is redundant just proves that as I've said nothing to defend anyone and just not apportioning blame.

This has nothing to do with tapping, if city were tapping they wouldn't care because the'll pay want Southampton want. Southampton just want more money, and didn't want FSG to try and use VvD's choice to join LFC as leverage , the tapping up was a smokescreen to really wanting more money from a bidding war,

It just doesn't seem right that Klopp would not try and get his top target, hopefully , and I mean HOPEFULLY there is still parts of the discussion with the agent kept secret in an attempt to force Southamptons hand, involving a transfer request, a promise that Klopp will sign him, and trust that VvD won't sign deals with man city or Chelsea no matter how much more they offer, it's a matter of trust, and HOPE lots of hope!!!!!!, BUT "if" the deal is successful , I will have 200% more respect for VvD and 200% more respect for Klopp that the deal was able to be done IN SPITE of FSG's incompetence , and don't go denying it, THIS IS FSG's incompetence and they are the idiots who hire computer game specialists for transfer negotiations done on laptops, it's FSG's fault, Klopp isn't perfect but he wants this deal to happen we just have to see how much Klopp and VvD want this deal to happen ,

C'mon REDS let's win this battle!!!!!!

7 years they've had to master the etiquette of a professional football transfer and season after season they royaly f.uck it up, only this time around it's the mother of all f.uck ups!
They always manage to rub the contracted club of a player up the wrong way by haggling like they are in a Marrakech Bazaar. This time around they were brazen about just who they were after months in advance of the transfer window that is to open on the 1st july!
Klopp said weeks ago how all the targets have been identified and that before even the last kick of the regular season, negotiations were ongoing? then we have the media giving updates on who was after VVD and at what offers they'd made...even though Southampton have stated nobody has officially made a bid, making it clear that Agent and Player were advanced in talks with other clubs behind Southampton back. The fact VVD stated his wish to join Klopp and his admiration for him was a red flag to a bull as far as Southamton were concerned. Surely FSG and Klopp must know how processes work? FSG should be old hands at it (but they continually f*uck up) even Klopp must have followed a certain protocol in Germany regarding transfers? and wasn't it made clear Klopp would not have any input on transfer negotiating (just give his desired targets and Committee would do the rest!)

The buck stops with FSG again...i'm not having them point the finger at an easy target and hold their hands up and say they didn't know! THEY KNEW ALRIGHT and I wouldn't put it past them to have orchestrated this whole piece of s.hit saga just so they don't get their man! They cannot be this f.ucking stupid when they have continually used other deplorable methods to distract us in previous transfer windows!

F>UCK FSG, THEY NEED TO GO PRONTO!

FSG OUT!!!

some of the posts suggesting that its either Klopp's or FSG's fault.. people would do anything to argue n win by typing endlessly.its the club as a whole who ffucked up.

I would imagine that suits /executives whoever first paved the way and got to talking.found out host of clubs interested then asked Klopp to jump in n lure vvd away . do you lot think Klopp arranged himself to fly VVd to blackpool or wherever to meet n there was no one else involved in this all? ffs

If Klopp is to be successful at liverpool, it will be in spite of FSG, they are obviously holding us back, but maybe Klopp can still find a way, theirs a slight chance negotiations with VvD have been kept partly secret , I'd give it a month , let's hope VvD won't sign with another team whatever crap city or Chelsea offer, let's hope Klopp gave his word he'll sign him, let's hope his agent is on board ad they keep their mouth tight lipped, at the right time "maybe" a transfer request will be made and LFC offer no less than 60 million,
Theirs a slight chance . Maybe the de vrij deal is a smokescreen just like the martins deal influence Roma and Southampton , a tricky dangerous game, but oh well what can we do, let's hope they have some plan to pull this off, surely Klopp rubber stamped that statement, so theirs something they may be keeping secret , let's just hope, I reckon Klopp is hard headed and bullish as a manager, he wants salah and Van dijk as main signings

No precisely. Spending 75m on a CB won't get us doing great neither as we need at least 4 top signings. Good CBs are not really in the shortest supply in football, this is why they should not be the most expensive neither
