Everyone at ‪#‎LFC‬ wishes good luck to Pepe Reina, who has completed a transfer to FC Bayern München. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/168538-reina-joins-bayern-munich[/b]
Except some of the more knowledgeable armchair critics in here of course who obviously hate loathe and detest him, poisonous little sh1t.

Yup. Good luck Pepe, and hope you get shown more respect by their fans than some of ours have shown.
I agree that there is no need to disrespect Reina (although he appears to have been angling for a move for along time to whoever would take him...). That said, his record isn't that good 'overall'. People find it easy to forget his bad games and only focus on the good. That's fine for nostalgia, but it doesn't offer a good balance. At best, he was good for us for 50% of his time at the club. There was an awful lot of decline as the years went by, which is odd for a goalkeeper as they tend to peak later. To me, that puts a question mark under his loyalty and attitude.
Can anyone really argue that he was
significantly better than Mignolet? it's too close to call. His departure was down to a couple of key factors...
1) he tried several times to leave (...arsenal...barcelona...) and that's never a positive
2) he'd been out of form for many years and was getting worse
3) he is on very high wages
4) he announced that Benitez was the best manager he'd ever worked for.....just months after Rodgers arrived!!!
Whether Benitez is better than Rodgers is irrelevant. Reina should have been a bit more respectful and kept quiet, especially as he'd cost us so many points in recent times due to his own unforced errors.
All in all, £5m+ per year for someone who wants to leave and probably isn't good enough to be a starter is ridiculous money. There is no way that the club can justify that kind of overhead for someone whose contribution would be negligible.
