What. I did not realise Evra had said that: it is the greatest insult you can make to call them that and refer to that part of the body! The FA have ignored vital evidence in that case and why are we not going for Evra as insulting and violent behaviour which is what started the whole thing in the first place. Protest! Send repeating emails to the FA in protest pointing this out and demand redress. Luis Suarez YNWA!

If Patrice Evra could not fully understand what Suarez said then how can the FA understand what was said and not said and what evidence? There is no evidence, just a narrow minded opinion based on what people want to believe. Racism is a very big issue and so it should be but not to the extent that we find people guilty of it on the mistaken word of a player who admits that he himself is not sure what was said or meant and should now come forward and ask the FA to withdraw the charges as he made a mistake. I am not sure what was said or not and I do not believe that he was totally innocent but the exchange went both ways and was blown up by the media. It should have been sorted out quietly and not with the ridiculous results for both clubs and players that it has done. Insults were obviously exchanged and words heated, but I am not convinced that anything racial was said and meant and I am not convinced that a fair hearing took place. An appeal to a higher court should be made and the FA should stop making threats to Liverpool and leave them alone to digest the 115 page document. In fact given it was released on New Year Eve, it should take the fact that the weekend and the Bank Holiday are involved and give them 14 working days to respond. To such a long document, surely they should even be given more time without the media and threats if they do appeal. Fairness is what is at stake here and this hearing was not fair and if it was one person against another, the case should have been dismissed and not gone so far to begin with. With the threat to make sure we have a longer ban if we appeal tonight, the FA have declared war on Liverpool FC, the entire football community and we have to respond in force. If they want war, give it to them, and unleash hell. What you do in life Echoes in Eternity.

That is why he has to appeal or anyone can make an accusation and will be automatically believed. In the meantime we need Luis to get himself together and score as many goals as possible; this could and will take many months to resolve.

How do you know he is not innocent? Did you here what was said? He may have used the word negretto but that means mate and not black and is not abusive or racist and Evra said c--t which is an insult and I will hit you which is a threat. He said that Suarez was not racist and he has changed his story four times. The hearing was not fair or impartial and there is no evidence to convict him either way or even probable cause. Oh and what about the fact that Manchester United's Henandez used the word on his own website? Is that not racist and it is worse as it is in print?

Negito means friend or beloved and is also a term of upmost respect so it has many meanings and if the FA are ignorant of that fact then that is their problem. Negro is an official term for a person of African origin and is in fact Latin and not English or Spanish. Is it also offensive to refer to someone as white or Corcassian now as well. What about mixed race? What about many of the other words to officially describe a person of colour or of a different racial background? And believe me there are many and in many different places they have several meanings. It is what was intended that should have counted and not one stupid word said or not said in the heat of an exchange on the football pitch. And what about the insults shouted about his sister and mother by the Fulham crowd? I am disabled and have had many things said to me that are offensive and stupid; I ignore them or bite back. Why? I am an adult and not a cry baby like Evra! I am not saying that if he was insulted that it was correct, but the two men should have apologised and moved on, may-be with a small fine and a one match ban each, not this rubbish!

This is out of control and so are the politically correct mob and the FA. Yes, appeal Liverpool and teach these idiots that they cannot go around using intimidation when a player is innocent or a mistake has been made.

Four league games too long! Why give them a reason just to accept anyone who claims to have been insulted on the field even if they have not? Suarez has not been fairly treated and the whole thing has been blown out of the water by the Liverpool hating media. We have to stand with him as this is what any club would do and quite rightly. It seems you can call a disabled person what you wish or a white person what you wish; call an elderly person a name, laugh at someone in the street with a learning disability, but if it is race, then all guns come out blazing and it gets blown up. The hearing was not fair and it needs to be put right. Suarez needs a fair hearing and the whole thing needs to be done much better. The two men made mistakes and got involved when they should not have and should have apologised but things were said on both sides and Evra is not a credible witness as he also stated that he made a mistake and what Suarez said was not racist. At that point he should have been allowed to apologise and the case dismissed. No-one heard the exchange and there is no evidence. In Scotland, we have not proven, but then we are more advanced than you English in our legal system; oh; is that racist; of course not, it is a fact. You should have this here and then this sort of rubbish would have been sorted more fairly. I am not saying that Evra is a liar; he has not proven his case and even though proof is not required beyond a reasonable doubt it is still has to be what is more probable than not. He seems that he did not even show this and it was a matter of opinion based on a video that Suarez was not allowed to see during his evidence. That is not fair. Evra also changed his story; Suarez did not. The video does not give anything away, but an argument; it does not prove an insult or a racist remark. It was a miss understanding, and that is all. Both players should have to apologise and move on, the FA should stop making threats and we should go to court. We need Luis. We cannot win these games without him and Manchester United know it. The FA also know it. We must stand firm; he has a right to an appeal and the media should also be made to shut up. Luis; YNWA!

I agree, Suarez also pumped his chest and made some bizare comments before the investigation was over and this was basically his downfall. Lets move on lads, the longer this stays hanging above our club the longer it will hurt us, lets take the ban on the chin, I don't care about appealing either just let him rest for 8 games let Carroll and Gerrard shine once again.

Suarez is innocent of the accusations that were initially made against him i.e. that he called Evra a 'N1gger' and that he did so at least 10 times.

Suarez was also entitled to be innocent until and if proven guilty of anything hence the club's support.

The club acknowledged from day 1 that Suarez used the word Negro once. (though in Spanish and within a specific context)

As to whether he used it more than once has still not been proven with a standard of evidence that the man in the street would expect and hence the club's continued support.

In a nusthell, the club supported Suarez against the exaggerated claims and the overreaction in good faith i.e. on the basis of Suarez version of events and that there was no real categorical evidence to the contrary.

The fact that the club could've handled it better is a different point. It doesn't detract from the fact that Suarez has been found to be innocent of the original accusations against him.

In a case as complex as this I don't think you should make generalised, blanket statements like 'suarez is not innocent like liverpool supporters and sadly the club are making out'. Or lazy statements like you said earlier about me not chosing to see the evidence that you say is in the public domain - I find that very offensive given that I have read the report and conducted a debate with you in a reasoned manner on a point by point basis. You can't seem to back up your statements with specific detail.

Of course Suarez is not a saint. which footballer is? I don't think anybody is saying that Suarez is a totally innocent party. The point is that he is innocent of the original accusation against him and also that the FA's charge against him has not been proven beyond a reasonable doubt - the panel decided the case only on a balance of probabilities based on their interpretation of events and using their logic but not on factual evidence. Would you yourself be happy to be branded a racist on this forum let alone in the national press on that level of evidence or proof?

some new info and point, dug up by LFC fans:

-Hernandez testefield the the term used in south ameruca in not offenses, the FA dissmissed his testemony caus he's not an "expert" in south american spanish, go figur. confused

- this from a post in R&W kop, fan video clip from a phone:

Quote:
Credit to RedLFCBlood over on LFCREDS, here is video of Evra going down after contact with Suarez. Before you watch it, here are the FA's words:
In the 58th minute of the game, Mr Suarez fouled Mr Evra between the edge of the Manchester United penalty area and the corner flag at the Kop end. It seemed to us to be a deliberate foul, and the referee awarded a free kick. The foul was committed by Mr Suarez kicking Mr Evra on his right knee. Mr Evra explained that he had previously had a bad problem in that knee. He remained on the ground receiving medical treatment for about one minute after the tackle.

2nd point: Mr Evra said that while he was lying on the ground, Mr Kuyt came up to him and said "stand up, you [oops] [oops]". Mr Kuyt said "This is untrue. What I did say was something to the effect of "Stand up, stand up", as if to say that it had been a foul but he was making too much of it". The video footage did not show Mr Kuyt speaking to Mr Evra at this time, but Mr Kuyt admitted that he did so.

Now watch the video starting at about 1:15. Suarez did not kick Evra deliberately, and Kuyt did say something to Evra. Both points are obvious on the video to even the most biased United apologist, yet the FA gets both points horrendously wrong. They had zero desire to get the facts right. They put their blinders on and set out to find whatever they could to convict Suarez, discounting any evidence that didn't fit their wishes.
