Sturridge: It’s up to Liverpool whether I stay or not

Daniel Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge has suggested that he will still be a Liverpool player next season if he has anything to do with it.

Many will expect the injury-plagued hitman to be shipped out this summer if a buyer can be found but the player himself sounds like he wants to stay where he is.

Asked if he would still be at Anfield next season, Sturridge replied. “That is for the club to decide. For myself, I am enjoying my football. My job is to go on the pitch and put my best foot forward.

“There is nothing to discuss really. I have two years left on my deal and I am happy here.

“I would have liked to have played more but I am grateful to the club for the opportunities and the manager has been really nice to me.”
