Southampton report Liverpool for illegal Van Dijk approach

Southampton have reported Liverpool to the Premier League for making a possible illegal approach for Virgil van Dijk.

Officials there were furious that a number of mainstream media journalists with connections to Anfield started leaking claims yesterday that Van Dijk wanted to make the switch to Liverpool. It is claimed that the Southampton board were left “seething” at the reports.

Numerous reports had suggested that Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has personally played a part in convincing the Dutchman to join him at Anfield and it’s those claims that Southampton want investigating.

It is now claimed that The Saints will do everything they can to retain the player and deny him a transfer to Liverpool.
