Sergio Ramos has taken a swipe at Jürgen Klopp’s managerial record.
The Real Madrid defender was responding to fresh criticism from the Liverpool manager who recently criticised Ramos for his behaviour in the Champions League final.
Ramos was at the heart of several talking points in Kiev after injuring Mo Salah and appearing to strike Loris Karius in the head which Liverpool claim left him concussed. Liverpool went on to lose the game 3-1.
During a pre-season interview, Klopp said: “If you watch it back and you are not with Real Madrid, then you think it is ruthless and brutal.
“If you put all of the situations of Ramos together, and I have watched football since I was five years old, then you will see a lot of situations with Ramos.

“[With Salah] you don’t think ‘Wow, good challenge’. The thing is, I saw the ref taking charge of big games at the World Cup afterwards and nobody really thinks about that later.
“But I think in a situation like that, somebody needs to judge it better. If VAR is coming then it is a situation where you have to look again. Not to give a red card or whatever but to look again and say ‘What is that?’
“It was ruthless. I don’t think Mo would have always got injured in that situation, this time it was unlucky, but it is an experience that we cannot have.
“I’m not sure if it is an experience we will have again – go there and put an elbow to the goalkeeper, put their goalscorer down like a wrestler in midfield and then you win the game.”
Asked for a response, Ramos told reporters: “I have given my opinion on the matter. I have no intention of hurting a player deliberately.
“He will be wanting to explain not winning the final, but it’s not the first that he has lost.
“Some of us have been operating at a very high level for many years – not sure he can say the same.
“Let Klopp worry about his own players.”
Klopp won his first final as a manager of Borussia Dortmund in 2012 but has lost his last six – including May’s Champions League final and the Europa League final against Sevilla 2 years earlier.
