Liverpool have been handed a boost with the news that Roberto Firmino’s ankle injury is not serious.
Results from yesterday’s scan have shown that the 27-year-old Brazilian did not sustain any serious damage to the ankle during Sunday’s Premier League draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Initially thought to be a doubt for the visit of Watford on Wednesday, the Liverpool forward could be called upon if absolutely necessary but if not, he is expected to deemed fit for Sunday’s Merseyside derby at Goodison.

Speaking at today’s pre-match press conference, Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp said: “It looks good, we were obviously lucky.
“It is not as serious as we thought in the first moment. If Bobby goes down and leaves the pitch it is always a bad sign because he’s a pretty hard boy.
“We play tomorrow and it will be very close for that, but there’s a big chance for the derby.
“Because it’s Bobby, I would say yes there is a chance even for Watford, but I don’t know if I would use that chance because we played Sunday and then Wednesday immediately.
“But writing Bobby off is a big mistake because he recovers pretty quick.”
