Rafa Benitez linked with Liverpool youngster

Newspaper reports have today linked former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez with Reds’ youngster Sheyi Ojo.

It is claimed that the Newcastle United manager is considering what options may be available to him and the 19-year-old winger is said to have been marked down as one of them.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp would be reluctant to let Ojo leave as he’s currently looking at adding to his squad opposed to making it smaller.

Benitez, who is currently enduring an injury crisis at St James’ Park, is in the market for a midfielder, a winger and a striker.

Liverpool have so far been thwarted with their approaches for targets during the January transfer window with little activity expected unless they are willing to pay slightly higher transfer fees at this time of the season. Unless reinforcements come in, few will envisage departures.
