Philippe Coutinho injury news

Philippe Coutinho looks set to miss tomorrow’s Premier League match at home to Huddersfield Town.

In the run up to today’s pre-match press conference, which will be added to our videos section shortly, there had been suggestions that the Brazilian could miss the visit of Huddersfield due to an abductor strain.

Addressing the media this afternoon, Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp claimed he didn’t know whether or not the Brazilian would be available for selection.

“It’s not clear in the moment,” he said. “Last week he had some back problems before the Tottenham game but then during the week it settled with treatment and all that stuff so he was fit for the game.

“This week he had a little bit of problem with the adductor. It’s not clear so far if he is out for tomorrow. We will make the decision today after training.

“He didn’t train yesterday, that’s true, but that’s all for the moment.”

Despite the manager’s words, sources close to the club don’t expect Coutinho to be involved tomorrow and add that he may not be fit for the games against Maribor (1st Nov) and West Ham United (4th Nov).
