PFA offer to mediate Bobby Duncan row

Bobby DuncanThe Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) have offered to mediate the fall out between striker Bobby Duncan and Liverpool Football club.

A row exploded when Duncan’s agent Saif Rubie published a number of explosive allegations about Liverpool’s alleged treatment of the 18 year-old on his Twitter account which has since been deleted.

Rubie claimed that the Reds were ‘mentally bullying’ his client, an allegation that deeply offended Anfield’s top brass and which was swiftly rubbished by the club.

Duncan had previously requested to leave the club to further his career and that request had been granted by the club but no offer as yet has been suitable hence the frustration displayed by Rubie. Fiorentina and Danish side FC Nordsjaelland have made offers to sign him on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent move but the numbers involved were not acceptable to the Reds and those offers were subsequently rejected.

The PFA have now stepped forward and have offered to try and help the situation. It is believed that a meeting will take place in the next few days to try and find a solution that will benefit everyone involved.
