Mo Salah responds to Real Madrid speculation

Liverpool ace Mo Salah has responded to speculation which suggests he could join Real Madrid by suggesting that he has no intention of going anywhere.

The latest claims that originated from Spain yesterday even went as far as to claim that a deal was already in place between the player and the Spanish giants subject to a fee being agreed with Liverpool.

Speaking at last night’s end-of-season awards at Anfield where he was named first team player and players’ player of the year, Salah said: “I’m very happy here, I’m very happy and everything is fine.

“Of course I have ambitions for the future with Liverpool. As you can see we had a great season and now we are in the Champions League final and everyone is excited.

“It is just the start. This is my first year here and it is the same for some other players.

“I didn’t watch all the games last season of the team but this year we have had an unbelievable year.”

After the club’s awards, Salah flew to London to collect the Football Writers’ Association’s award having beaten off competition from Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne and Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

The majority of supporters will welcome Salah’s comments although many will also remember similar words being uttered by the likes of Luis Saurez and Philippe Coutinho prior to their departures.

Although we believe his agent has a plan to move Salah to Real Madrid at some point in the future, we wouldn’t be surprised if details of Salah agreeing a new contract with Liverpool came out of nowhere over the coming months.

We still don’t trust his agent, though.
