Liverpool’s John Achterberg checks out goalkeeper

Liverpool goalkeeping coach John Achterberg is monitoring Shamrock Rovers goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu.

The 16-year-old is attracting interest from a number of English clubs with Liverpool being one of them.

Achterberg watched Bazunu keep his 3rd clean sheet in 3 games against Derry City at Tallaght Stadium on Friday alongside Academy representatives from Brighton & Hove Albion and Norwich City.

Bazunu impressed while on a week’s trial with Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic recently. He’s also had trials with Arsenal and Brighton but as yet nobody has snapped him up.
