Liverpool transfer bid rejected

Reports originating from France claim that Liverpool had a £15million transfer bid for Rennes midfielder Benjamin André rejected in the summer.

Liverpool supporters may recall that André was mooted as a possible option for Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp when it became apparent that a deal for Naby Keïta wasn’t going to go through.

French newspaper ‘Le Telegramme‘ reported at the time that Klopp was looking for a defensive midfielder and that a bid would be going in for André before the transfer window closed. Nothing of any credibility really followed but fresh reports this week suggest that Liverpool did table an offer but it was subsequently rejected.

Liverpool have since secured the services of Naby Keïta who will make the switch to Anfield in the summer.
