Reports originating from Spain claim that Liverpool are considering challenging Arsenal for Real Madrid ace Lucas Vázquez.
The 26-year-old right-sided winger is wanted by Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger and if the latest suggestions are to be believed, Liverpool are again showing an interest in him.
Capped a handful of times by Spain, Vázquez was linked with Liverpool back in April 2016. At the time it was claimed that Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp had been monitoring him closely so it’s interesting to see this one surface again. Back then it was mooted that Liverpool would be willing to offer Real Madrid around £10million for him.
Vázquez was deemed surplus to requirements during the last summer transfer window due to the emergence of Marco Asensio while Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are obviously going to keep anyone out of the side.
Former Liverpool winger Luis Garcia is a fan of Vázquez and he believes that he should be included in Spain’s World Cup squad as a result of his recent form.

Speaking recently, Garcia said: “I think Lucas Vazquez deserves something, because he is doing so well and because every time he has been involved in a game he has provided something. I think he deserves it.
“I’m not the national coach and I’m glad I’m not because it’s a difficult task to try to find the right players. But I think [Marco] Asensio and Vazquez deserve to have a chance.
“[José] Callejon has also been scoring goals and goals every single season in Italy. Iago Aspas is the Spanish top scorer in LaLiga. At a World Cup, you need to bring the spine of the team, those that you’ve known for a while. But after that, I think the most important are the players who are in good form.”
An academy graduate at Real Madrid, Vázquez has certainly contributed to their recent revival and he’s hoping his current form will earn him a place in Julen Lopetegui’s final World Cup squad.
“I hope that Lopetegui calls me,” he said. “Of course I would like to go to Russia.”
Tottenham and Roma have also been linked.
Quite a few Real Madrid players are starting to be linked with Liverpool which may be slightly concerning to some of you due to the Spanish giant’s interest in Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah.
