Liverpool have been dealt a devastating blow with the news that primary transfer target Christian Pulisic has signed a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund.
The 18-year-old has signed a one-year extension which means his contract with the German club now runs until 2020.
Confirming the news, Pulisic said: “I still need to learn a lot.

“I have the best conditions for it here at Dortmund and I have the chance to play in front of over 80,000 people.
“We have the best fans in the world. It can’t get better than this.”
Sporting Director Michael Zorc added: “We are delighted that after Julian Weigl we have tied another extraordinarily talented player to a long-term deal.
“Christian already has a big standing in the dressing room and just like Julian Weigl can grow into a cornerstone of our sporting future.”
Liverpool had tried to sign him during the current and previous transfer windows and had planned to make a fresh attempt in the summer.
Julian Draxler had also been attracting interest from Klopp but Liverpool were also unable to wrap up a deal for him and he has since made the switch to PSG for £34million.
Borussia Monchengladbach’s Mahmoud Dahoud and Bayer Leverkusen’s Julian Brandt remain on Klopp’s radar.
