Liverpool still tracking Argentina forward

Lucas Alario

Liverpool are maintaining their interest in River Plate forward Lucas Alario, claim reports originating from Spain today.

Earlier this year we reported that Liverpool had registered their interest in the 23-year-old after glowing reports were forwarded back to Melwood by Liverpool scouts but an £8.5million asking price apparently put off the Reds from making an offer at the time.

There hasn’t been much chatter linking him with us since then but Spanish publication Marca are now claiming that we are still keeping tabs on him, along with the likes of Tottenham, Benfica, Inter Milan and Torino.

Capped twice by Argentina, Alario recently signed a new contract with River Plate which is said to contain a £15million release clause.

The highly-rated forward has previously been quoted as saying that he plays as Liverpool on FIFA and owns a Liverpool FC jersey.
