Liverpool set Philippe Coutinho transfer valuation

Liverpool have slapped a £133.5million valuation on Philippe Coutinho in the hope that Barcelona will cool their interest in the Brazilian, claim reports originating from Spain.

The Reds have rejected a £72million opening bid from the Catalan outfit and have publicly stated that the 25-year-old is not for sale. However, everyone has a price and although the manager wants to retain him, he would have no choice but to agree to his sale if an exceptional offer came in.

Coutinho has privately indicated that he wants to complete a dream move to the Nou Camp but Liverpool will block his exit unless a more substantial offer comes in.

Club officials are hoping to get at least another season out of him but if he insists he wants to leave, Barcelona will have to break the bank to land him and we’re not confident that they would pay the amount that Liverpool are demanding.

Sources close to the club claim Liverpool would sell if an offer of around £100m was tabled despite their attempts to secure a more sizeable amount. However, the media believe Liverpool would accept a lower fee of around £90million.
