Liverpool reignite interest in Neven Subotić

Liverpool have reignited their interest in Borussia Dortmund centre-back Neven Subotić.

Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp tried to bring the 28-year-old Serbia international to Anfield not long after he took over from Brendan Rodgers but a proposed transfer never got off the ground and we ended up taking Steven Caulker on loan instead.

Capped 36 times for Serbia between 2009 and 2013, but having since turned his back on his country, the highly-rated Subotić had a fantastic relationship with Klopp when he was at Dortmund.

Having failed to make an impression under new boss Peter Bosz so far this season, Subotić has confirmed he’s looking for a transfer and a number of European clubs have been linked with him.

After hopefully overcoming a number of injury problems, if he can stay fit, we can see why Klopp would consider him in January especially as he’s out of contract and available on a free transfer in the summer.
