Liverpool Football Club has made an official approach to Arsenal Football Club regarding the availability of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The 23-year-old midfielder continues to stall on a new deal with the Gunners and there are indications that he is now willing to discuss a possible transfer to Anfield.
Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is a big fan of the player but he has always denied having any interest in signing him. Back in December, Klopp said it was “nonsense” that he would be making an attempt to recruit him although you may recall that we weren’t convinced with his denial.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has never, in our opinion, been considered a primary target. If anything, we see him as a fall-back option and one possibly for the taking because of his contract stand-off which may offer some potential value.
A couple of weeks ago, a well-placed source posted on our members’ website that Liverpool had allegedly spoken to the player’s representative and that although the feedback was relatively positive, there was a feeling that the agent may have been playing us a little. That’s certainly something to consider. However, we believe we have made an approach to Arsenal so it will be interesting to see what pans out over the next couple of weeks.
Although Liverpool has made an official enquiry, this shouldn’t be confused with us tabling a formal offer for him.
