Liverpool linked with Real Madrid goalkeeper

Keylor Navas

It’s been a while since Liverpool were linked with a different goalkeeper every week maybe because boss Jürgen Klopp says he’s happy with his two Number 1s, this despite some fans calling for reserve ‘keeper Danny Ward to be given a chance, usually after one of the other two have made a howler.

Last week we were linked with former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas and this week we’re now being linked with one of their current goalkeepers, Keylor Navas.

Reports originating from Spain claim that Klopp enquired about the 30-year-old’s availability towards the end of the summer transfer window and that his interest remains. It is even suggested that the Liverpool manager personally called the Costa Rica international about a possible move to Anfield.

Navas, who joined Real Madrid in 2014 for €10million, is rumoured to be unsettled and could be looking for a move elsewhere. That may be the case but we’re not convinced about our reported interest in him at the present time.

The fact that we are being linked with goalkeepers again usually suggests one of two things. 1) The manager is actually looking for a ‘keeper or 2) Internal conversations have leaked out that the manager is losing patience with someone and this alerts agents.
