Liverpool linked with Kasper Schmeichel

Reports today claim that Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is attracting attention from Anfield.

It is claimed that Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has made an enquiry about the 30-year-old’s availability ahead of the January transfer window.

Loris Karius was recently dropped in favour of Simon Mignolet but there are also question marks about his ability to hold down a regular place in the side which has sparked suggestions that Klopp will now look for another ‘keeper.

A bid in the region of £20million would apparently be needed to tempt Leicester into discussing a possible deal if you choose to believe the reports.

No credible sources are reporting such an approach at this time but that doesn’t, of course, mean that Schmeichel isn’t under consideration.

Joe Hart (29), currently on loan at Italian side Torino, has also been mooted as a possible target.
