Liverpool Football Club remain locked in talks with Southampton over the proposed transfer of Virgil van Dijk to Anfield.
The highly-rated 25-year-old centre-back looks set to snub Chelsea and Manchester City and sign for Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool after being sold his project by the German manager.

News of the player’s decision broke yesterday much to the surprise of the Anfield faithful – including ourselves – after mainstream media reports had earlier reported that Manchester City were supposedly closing in on a deal.
KOPTALK reported yesterday that Liverpool officials remained confident of landing the Dutchman despite Manchester City’s firm interest.
As of this morning, no agreement is in place. Southampton want Liverpool to match the £60million offered by City and although personal terms haven’t officially been agreed, the Reds have indicated that they will meet the package offered by Pep Guardiola’s outfit.
If Liverpool get this signing over the line, it will be a major boost for owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) who continue to take flak from supporters for failing to deliver silverware. If they can deliver Van Dijk and a few others, while holding on to Philippe Coutinho, they may finally be offered some breathing space.
