Liverpool Football Club are threatening to end their interest in Roma winger Mohamed Salah.

The 24-year-old Egypt international is keen to make the switch to Anfield but Roma are demanding a transfer fee in excess of £35million which is unacceptable to Liverpool.

A £28million cash offer has already been rejected by the Italians and Liverpool are refusing to pay over the odds for the player. Roma have been informed that we are now looking at alternatives.

Roma President Jim Pallotta has confirmed talks are ongoing but has denied suggestions that a deal is close.
