Liverpool FC Transfer News: Jorginho – LATEST

Liverpool Football Club remain confident of reaching an agreement with Napoli for midfielder Jorginho.

The Italian outfit are reportedly looking for a fee of around £50million for the 26-year-old who is also attracting interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.

It is claimed that Jorginho has indicated that he would be interested in a move to Anfield ahead of The Emirates or Old Trafford, providing Jürgen Klopp can secure Champions League qualification for next season.

With contract rebel Emre Can looking set to leave the club in the summer, Jorginho appears to be Klopp’s primary target to replace him. The 24-year-old Germany international claims he could still extend his stay with the Reds but with Anfield officials refusing to insert a release clause in any new deal, a compromise looks unlikely.

Despite strong competition from other Premier League clubs, Liverpool officials believe that they have established a decent relationship with Jorginho’s representatives and feel that they will do all they can to apply pressure on Napoli to try and conclude a deal swiftly.

Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has held talks with Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli at least 3 times over the last month and Santos says he’s not aware of any clubs having made formal approaches directly to Giuntoli for his client as yet.

Liverpool could turn to Nice’s Jean Seri (26) or Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi (21) if they are unable to broker a deal for Jorginho.
