Liverpool FC linked with Bundesliga goalkeeper

Marwin Hitz

Liverpool Football Club have been linked with FC Augsburg goalkeeper Marwin Hitz.

The 29-year-old Swiss international (2 caps) is apparently attracting interest from Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp despite him repeatedly stating that he would not be signing a goalkeeper this summer due to those he already has at his disposal.

Hitz, who was linked with us once before in March 2016, is in the final 12 months of his contract and according to reports originating from Germany, Liverpool are considering making an offer for him.

KOPTALK sources claim that Klopp is a fan of Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford but a £30million asking price means nothing will happen on that front anytime soon.

Manchester City reject Joe Hart has also been considered numerous times by Klopp and we believe that interest is still there. However, someone would need to be moved out first as the Liverpool manager has prioritised other areas of his squad for his initial transfer kitty.

Klopp says he won’t sign a goalkeeper and that could be the case but we’re not convinced that he’s happy with what he has so we’d certainly not be surprised if there was a shock move later in the window. Hart has been offered to Liverpool repeatedly and his future remains unclear.

FC Köln’s Timo Horn is another one who continues to be linked.
