Liverpool drawn against Leicester in League Cup

Liverpool will play Leicester City away from home in the 3rd round of the League Cup.

The draw was made at 4.35 am GMT in China in an attempt to attract more interest in the competition which is not high on the agenda of England’s top flight clubs, until they reach the final.

It’s only the second time Liverpool have faced Leicester in the League Cup. The only other time the two clubs met in the competition was in 1986 when Liverpool smashed the visitors 4-1 at Anfield.

Ties will be played during the week commencing September 18th. Liverpool play Burnley at home on Saturday 16th and are away to Leicester again in the Premier League on Saturday 23rd.
