Liverpool linked with £20m move for Celtic’s Moussa Dembélé

Liverpool have been linked with a £20million January transfer move for Celtic centre-forward Moussa Dembélé.

It is claimed that Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is willing to offer £10million up front for the 20-year-old with additional £10million written into a potential offer based on appearances and achievements. The player would also be offered better personal terms with reports claiming the Reds would boost his wages from £15,000-a-week to £60,000-a-week to try and tempt him to Anfield.

The former PSG and Fulham player made the switch to Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic in the summer on a free transfer which saw Fulham awarded £500,000 in compensation. A proposed move to Tottenham had collapsed in January.

When Dembélé made the switch north of the border, it was claimed that he had again snubbed Spurs and also turned down a move to Arsenal citing that he would get more playing time in the Scottish Premiership.

Reds’ boss Klopp has lost striker Danny Ings for the reason while Daniel Sturridge’s future looks unclear. The 27-year-old, who is currently carrying a “minor calf issue”, has been tipped to leave Liverpool next year.
