Klopp responds to Nabil Fekir ‘done deal’ claims

Nabil Fekir

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has refused to deny reports that claim we have agreed a £62million deal for Lyon ace Nabil Fekir.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder/forward has been mooted as an option for Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp for some time and according to reports originating from France, a deal has been agreed between both clubs that will see him make the switch to Anfield in the summer.

It is claimed that Liverpool officials have agreed a deal which is close to £62million including bonuses. The same reports also claim that Liverpool are looking at trying to broker a deal with Barcelona for Ousmane Dembélé (20).

After today’s 1-0 defeat at Chelsea, the Liverpool manager was asked if a deal had been agreed for Fekir.

Klopp responded: “During the game, we agreed a deal? I would be surprised about that to be honest. No comment.”

Asked about Ousmane Dembélé and he added: “Oh, is he on the market? Now I am interested!

“I never comment on transfer rumours.”

Capped ten times by France, Fekir’s name was first put forward on our members’ website in January 2015. The chatter has continued since then and with Liverpool having monitored his progress for some time, it wouldn’t surprise us if he was to end up at Anfield.

But for now, there’s no official confirmation of any deal and there’s nobody credible closer to home touching on this just yet.
