Liverpool Football Club owner John Henry has dismissed suggestions that Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are on the verge of selling the club.
The American businessman took to Twitter to respond to the source of the claims, talkSPORT’s Ian Abrahams AKA The Moose, who yesterday claimed that the club could be sold as early as this week.
“My sources are tellling [sic] me tonight, the @lfc takeover is expected to be completed before Christmas & possibly by the end of this week,” Tweeted Abrahams last night.
Henry made a rare appearance on Twitter today to put Abrahams in his place with the FSG chief stating: “Good that your sources will be debunked so soon. Usually it takes a long time!”

Over the last year KOPTALK sources have continued to claim interest in the club from Qatar and China but although the Qatar interest appears to have gone away, chatter regarding a potential Chinese investment hasn’t (as yet). Despite the whispers, there are currently no suggestions that the owners are currently looking to sell.
As for Abrahams, he’s considered a bit of a joker – and not in the funny sense – by his fellow professionals.
