Hull City and Liverpool are continuing to negotiate a loan move for Lazar Markovic after Sporting Lisbon requested to cancel his existing loan with them.
The 22-year-old £20million signing has endured a miserable time in Portugal and Sporting want rid as soon as possible. The player has agreed to the cancellation of his agreement with them but without Liverpool giving the nod, Markovic will have to stay put until the end of the season.

Unfortunately, Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp doesn’t want him back at Anfield for the second half of the campaign which has surprised some supporters who thought he may give him a fresh chance to impress.
Hull boss Marco Silva made an approach and both clubs are currently trying to reach an agreement.
Markovic, who has started just two league games all season for Sporting, was signed by former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers in July 2014 after apparently beating Chelsea to his signature.
At the time, Rodgers said: “This is an exciting signing for us and one that improves our squad, in terms of attacking options.
“He was hugely impressive for Benfica last season and has proved he has the ability to produce the goods in European competition as well, which will be important for us.
“Lazar is flexible to play a number of positions, but I like the way he attacks games and is always positive and looking to make something happen. He will fit in with the way we play at Liverpool.
“Getting him at such a young age is also very pleasing for us, because we will be able to work with him to develop his talent within our group and improve him even further. He is the sort of character who is hungry to get better and progress.”
