Emre Can pulls out of Germany training after 15 minutes

Emre Can

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can was withdrawn from a training session with Germany today after just 15 minutes of participation.

The 24-year-old contract-rebel, who was substituted early on during Liverpool’s 5-0 win over Watford at the weekend with a back injury, had to pull out due to discomfort in his back.

Despite the injury, Can still reported as normal for international duty with Germany for their friendlies against Spain and Brazil.

Meanwhile, Can has offended some Liverpool supporters by stating in an interview that he has the ability to represent “a very big club” next season.

Out of contract in the summer and having so far refused to sign a new deal with Liverpool, the German international will be available on a free at the end of the current campaign. Juventus are favourites to sign him but a number of clubs in France, Germany and Spain have also been linked.

“I have the self-confidence to say that my qualities are sufficient to play in a very big club next season,” said the player.

“That’s what every footballer dreams of because that’s the reward for the work.

“I’m doing great in England. The Spanish league is also attractive. The same applies to Germany, where tactics are concerned, and the Italian club football, which has recently caught up.

“Incidentally, the same applies to France, this league has now established itself as one of the best in Europe. Therefore, I do not want to exclude anything because I do not know what I will do from the summer.”

  • Vodafone Egypt are to give their 43 million customers 11 free minutes of talk time for every goal Mo Salah scores between now and the end of the season which could cost them in excess of £100million each time he finds the back of the net.
