Dembélé confirms Liverpool interest

Ousmane Dembélé has confirmed that Liverpool were interested in signing him in the summer.

The 19-year-old French midfielder was with Rennes at the time but when Liverpool made their approach, he says he had already set his mind on a move to Borussia Dortmund.

Dembele said: “I saw Klopp in Paris but I told him I’d made up my mind to sign for BVB.”

The player also confirmed that he turned down the chance to sign for Premier League champions Leicester City before opting on a move to Germany.
