Daniel Sturridge to return to training

Daniel Sturridge

‘Daniel Sturridge to return to training’, a headline that just won’t go away. It is, of course, good news that the Liverpool striker is once again returning to training and it’s not his fault that he was struck down with a virus while out in La Manga, Spain on last week’s warm weather training camp. But boy we’d much rather be writing that Sturridge is banging in the goals for the Mighty Reds, instead.

The 27-year-old striker will return to Melwood today and Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp will be keeping a close eye on him over today’s double session. Having only scored 2 goals in the Premier League so far this season, some may say that Sturridge is running out of time to impress his manager ahead of the summer transfer window.

Having only started 9 games this season, Sturridge continues to be linked with a possible exit from Liverpool with a number of London-based clubs seemingly showing interest in him.

There’s no doubting his ability but even Harry ‘Sick Note’ Kewell contributed more despite occasionally turning out in a wheelchair or on crutches.
