Daniel Sturridge exit imminent

Daniel Sturridge is to undergo a medical with West Bromwich Albion this afternoon ahead of a proposed loan move.

The 28-year-old appears to have snubbed offers from Inter Milan and Newcastle in favour of a move to The Baggies who dumped Liverpool out of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Although Jürgen Klopp would have preferred to have held on to the want-away striker until the summer, the Reds have opted not to stand in his way and will instead bank a loan fee believed to be around £1.5million.

Sevilla had registered an interest in the player but Inter Milan had looked favourites to sign him. A late approach from Newcastle was on the table but it would appear that West Brom have been successful in securing his services.

Sturridge asked to leave Anfield in the hope of making a late push for Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.

At the present time there is no sign of any replacement coming in before the window slams shut.
