Chelsea v Liverpool – TEAM NEWS

David Luiz will replace the injured John Terry when the Blues take on Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in Friday night’s Premier League encounter.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has confirmed that the player will be making his first appearance for the club since rejoining Chelsea in a £30m transfer from Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day. Terry is ruled out after straining ligaments in his foot during their 2-2 draw against Swansea.

Another new Chelsea signing, Marcos Alonso, is available for selection but is unlikely to start against the Reds.

Conte has favoured a 4-1-4-1 formation so far this season. You would expect him to deploy Luiz alongside Gary Cahill, with Branislav Ivanovic on the right and Cesar Azpilicueta on the left.

Possible Chelsea XI (4-1-4-1): Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Azpilicueta; Kante; Willian, Oscar, Matic, Hazard; Diego Costa.
