Charlie Adam: Coutinho good enough for Barca or Real Madrid

Former Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam says Philippe Coutinho is good enough to earn a transfer t0 Barcelona or their rivals Real Madrid.

Adam (31), now with Stoke City, was being interviewed for BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club when quizzed as to whether or not Coutinho was good enough for either of the Spanish giants and in particular, Barcelona.

“I can see him playing for either,” said the Scotsman. “Playing against him, he is a wonderful technician, he sees everything different on the pitch to other players and his ability to go by people, you can see him going to play for them.

“It’s going to cost a lot of money for them. I speak to Glen Johnson about him and he says ‘He’s the best player by a country mile and can easily go and play for Barcelona or Real Madrid’.”
