Barcelona continue to be linked with Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno.

Reports originating from Spain continue to suggest that the Catalan giants are keen on the idea of recruiting the 26-year-old who is available on a free transfer in the summer.

You may recall we touched on Barcelona having a possible interest in Moreno back in October but those suggestions were played down by the Spanish media, possibly on behalf of Barca, as they wrote that they wouldn’t be targeting a left-back at all in the summer which seems an unrealistic denial.

Lucas Digne made the switch to Everton last summer and it’s been mooted since then that boss Ernesto Valverde is looking for a replacement. Valencia’s José Luis Gayà, PSG’s Juan Bernat, Arsenal’s Nacho Monreal and Atlético Madrid’s Filipe Luís are also said to be under consideration along with Moreno.

Liverpool have held talks with Moreno’s representatives about a possible extension but neither side seems too concerned about failing to reach an agreement with Moreno being advised to weigh-up his options in the summer.

Although Moreno isn’t highly-rated by most Liverpool supporters, he won’t be short of takers at the end of the season.

Marseille are one of several clubs who have registered their interest in the Liverpool defender.
