Reports originating in Spain today claim that Barcelona have now identified Antoine Griezmann as a primary transfer target, which if true, could prove to be good news for Liverpool fans who want to hold on to Philippe Coutinho.
Linked heavily with Manchester United during the summer, the 26-year-old would cost Barcelona around €100million and the suggestions in Spain are that Barcelona would subsequently have to end their interest in Coutinho to make a deal happen.

Back in 2010, former Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli tried to bring the then 19-year-old Griezmann to Anfield in a £7million deal but as usual, nothing materialised. He has also been linked with us a couple of times while Jürgen Klopp has been at Anfield.
Despite Griezmann having only signed a 1-year extension in the summer, which resulted in his contract being extended until 2022, Barcelona have still reportedly added him to their list of ‘possibles’.
The player has a release clause of £88.8million written into his deal and Barcelona are said to be willing to exploit that.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool player Jason McAteer believes Philippe Coutinho’s transfer to Barcelona may also have been agreed.
“They will come back for him in the summer. I’ve got no doubt about it,” said McAteer.
“I think the deal, possibly, has already been done.”
Earlier this week it was reported that PSG had reignited their interest in the Brazilian and with his representatives appearing to have met with them only a few days ago, one would assume that no such agreement is in place, yet.
