An announcement was made by the Scottish FA to appoint Robertson as the permanent captain following a period of uncertainty which resulted in the armband being passed around various players over the last year.
Robertson will now lead Scotland in their friendly against World Cup semi-finalists Belgium on Friday and in their first UEFA Nations League match against Albania 3 days later.
Capped 22 times by Scotland, Robertson has made huge progress with both club and country. He is a popular member of the Liverpool squad and a favourite with the Anfield faithful.
