Go for Lahm from Bayern and pay the money needed for some quality.

Id stick with Aurelio as well, give him a run of games and see if he earns another contract. On his day he's top class, just the injurys isnt it.

I agree, Aurelio could or even should be top class as has great ability. Problem is as mentioned too injury prone, a season or two ago he had a run of 12-15 games and was exceptional then just pulled up, 6weeks out. finished in my view.

leighton baines is a quality left back but it would probably be impossible to get him from the bitters.

Aurelio is great when fit and against teams that have technical wingers instead of the usual brutes and push and runs.

But the future of the LB position cannot be trusted in his hands.

Taiwo, from what i have seen, is going to add a physical presence to that position. He is quick, strong and take good freekicks. If he is out of contract this summer, the choice becomes very obvious. Contreau is superb too but he strikes me to be more of a LWB than a specialized LB. If you are a LB, you must be a good defender first before you can think of attacking. If you cant defend and can only attack, you are not a defender.

My idea of a left back is first MUST BE ABLE TO DEFEND, if they can do that then if they can create a few goals by getting forward then great. but i'd be happy having a winger first trying to beat the opposing full back, if can't then play the ball back 15 yards for our left/right back to cross it in for a target man......simples. I don't like saying it but gary neville (the tw@t) was great at doing this.
