until the last two seasons we did work this way. Benitez brought in several really good players all under 25 starting with Alonso,Agger,Crouch,Mascher,Reina,Skrtel,Insua, Arbeloa, Lucas, Babel, Torres. It's only the last two years that due to finances things have changed. To be honest looking at all those players we probably got most right. And only Torres cost a significant amount.

just had a thought, emiliano insua is on loan at galatasaray. he could be offered as part of a deal with arda turan. surely that would lower his value by at least £3m to£4m. it seems insane not to make an approach for him.

if these rumours about henry are right then surely it bodes well for our future.

i believe there are a few more who fall into the same catergory and are all fairly young:

then some that would cost some real money too like aguero, dzeko and sanchez. highly unlikely but always nice to dream about.

if he means business hopefully we can offload some of our high earning crap fringe players like babel and a few others and start investing in some highly rated younger players that will make sound investments

Marko Marin thats it, been tryin to remember his name for ages, really really good player got a great attitude on him aswell not sure about the "German Messi" tag thats been stuck on him but hes certainly worth a shot. I wouldnt complain if we took Aaron Hunt off Bremen aswell i know weve been linked with him in the past.

That Shakira lad has spoken about quite alot, and hes out in the Alpes, where Woy has coached. Nzogbia could also come cheap, intresting this, a good marketing tool by Henry, maybe clubs wont expect us to come out spluring with 20-30 mil transfer request, and instead sell for cheap.

he's not saying how much we're going to spend or when we're going to spend it so that means that the press has got no clue at all if we will spend big or not in january. they're just making up stories.

what henry said is that we'll have to be spending in a smart way and we're probably going to bring in a couple of younger players which is a good thing.
