He does not do anything to his system until long after it has been shown to be failing in every game, rather than learning from his lessons and picking a different starting line-up. In this way it might be said that he has a Plan A, but it is bad. His 30-odd years of experience are centered around average clubs in crisis; the only other time he managed a top side (Inter) he failed miserably.

We sacked a manager who knew which end of the pitch to attack and with how many men, and recreated our youth academy, but who had lost both critical members of his team as well as the ability to motivate some others. In his place we hired a man, who does not know how to play attacking football, doesn't expect to win ("Utopia of beating 4th from bottom Everton" - Shanks must be turning in his grave), drives away talented youth, and is unable to motivate anyone in the squad. (And somehow this is still all Rafa's fault, according to some.)

The only solution here is to sack Roy, and to do it early enough that the new manager has at least a small chance of walking away from the Chelsea game with his head held high.

Thats not true!!He was instrumental in getting a very decent blackburn side relegated!!

David: "And why exactly are you smiling ?"
Roy: "Because my team managed to string 3 passes together in the second half. If we continue like this we might even create a chance sometime around Christmas."

I have always held Del Bosque in high esteem even in his Madrid days where he was ruthlessly axed during the Galactico era. He is a very sound manager who knows what football is and how it should be played. Being perennial underachievers, he has managed to find a balance and eradicate the great "Madrid Vs Barcelona" animosity and selection headaches all Spanish managers have.

If we can attract him, it's a big IF, we have in him a manager that will undoubtedly bring us back to the top. without question, he is now ready for a move back to the club management. He will attract the big names and get our pass and move rhythm back.

Maybe i can get you some honey :P
Indeed its also a player issue, only ones who were remarkable during this whole mess are Stevie, Reina and Agger when played, at a lower level N'gog, Kyrgiakos, Konch and maybe Raul

Thundyr, Rafa's time had come. It seemed even he was ready for a change of scene and he knew he'd get a decent gig elsewhere. He's gone and rightly so. Fact is Hodgson is not the answer either.

The argument shouldn't be Benitez Vs Hodgson it should be about who's the right manager with a core of players (per my post above) and a budget of £X million plus whatever is raised through sales.

For me, Dalgleish is not the answer nor O'Neill or Rijkaard. Get proven competence in and now. Hiddink for me.

too many times we have been 'out fought' this season. However Hodgson on too many occasions has been 'out thought' as well. He talked to Sammy on the pitch edge for 6-7mins yesterday just after the 2nd goal and the blank look and then subsequent Ngog change but not system change did it for me, he fluffed it when decisive action was required.
I never bought into the 'o'neil' diving round management but Hodgson actions yesterday and during the Blackpool game when he held his head and remained on the bench tells me this is not good.

We want a leader, a driving force with a ruthless vision NOT everyone's friend. Look at Fergie now looking to sell Rooney because of his attitude, that is brave even reckless but decisive and everyone in that club knows who's boss. Management at the top has had many high profile casualties because they never made brave decisions, and rarely if ever has a TOP manager been so 'safe' yet that is Hodsgon 'safe'.

'a man who makes no decisions never makes anything'

Konchesky isn't good at all.. he let the ball slip past him and caused me so much worry while playing Left Back.. Fabio Aurelio to me is much better than him...
