What baffles me is how he is making it sound like our position is pretty much to be expected.
Who does he think we are??? I genuinely think he is shocked that people are questioning the fact that this group of players are 2nd from bottom.
It takes some talent to steer a squad of players which includes the likes of Reina, Johnson, Cara, Agger, Cole, Gerrard, Torres etc to do soooo badly...

Roy balances expectation and ambition by having none of either. His minimum standards are that we run around like headless chickens enough for him to say we were beaten by the better team. He does not encourage the youth. He does not motivate the senior players. He does not have a Plan B. He does not do anything to his system until long after it has been shown to be failing in every game, rather than learning from his lessons and picking a different starting line-up. In this way it might be said that he has a Plan A, but it is bad. His 30-odd years of experience are centered around average clubs in crisis; the only other time he managed a top side (Inter) he failed miserably.
We sacked a manager who knew which end of the pitch to attack and with how many men, and recreated our youth academy, but who had lost both critical members of his team as well as the ability to motivate some others. In his place we hired a man, who does not know how to play attacking football, doesn't expect to win ("Utopia of beating 4th from bottom Everton" - Shanks must be turning in his grave), drives away talented youth, and is unable to motivate anyone in the squad. (And somehow this is still all Rafa's fault, according to some.)
The only solution here is to sack Roy, and to do it early enough that the new manager has at least a small chance of walking away from the Chelsea game with his head held high.
