I would never normally advocate removing a manager so early into his reign but for me Roy is the wrong man for the job.
One thing missing at Liverpool right now, and I never thought I would say this in 35 years of following the club, is PRIDE. Theres too many players who dont understand what it is to wear that shirt. Carra, Stevie G, yes, Reina maybe, Kuyt, I thought so but his ramblings about moving put me off. But that pride has to be instilled by the manager and Roy just doesnt seem to have it.
When the sale goes through, one thing needs fixing immediately and thats getting the pride and desire back in the club, and for me, having outsiders owning the club for the last few years, and with more outsiders coming in, we need someone who is liverpool through and through to give that link to the past for the next year or so.
Maybe Dalglish, hell, maybe even Keegan, whatever his managerial failings he has that passion. We dont need a tactical genius for now, we (should) have the players with the ability to produce results, but we do need someone who will instill a bit of passion in the players. For one fleeting moment I even imagined Paulo Di Canio, or Craig Bellamy as caretaker manager (maybe we could do with a player like that right now)
Sorry Roy, but for me, youre just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Hearing there was a get out clause was one of the best bits of news Ive read this week.
