To answer:
1) How many fans are really willing to let Anfield go?
2) More fans will be happier that at least something is being done.

If Anfield can be redevloped into a 60 seater then that would be great in my opinion. Anything less then 60k is pointless in my opinion. It will be a cheaper option and most fans seem to be favouring this idea. I know Anfield is a legandary ground and all, but Moving into a new stadium is the best possible solution in my opinion. Whether thats a shared ground or not, it will be new and great and probably carry 60-70k which is very essential nowadays. Whatever the new owners decide if they get the club, i really hope it is for the best of the fans.

The financially sensible oprion would obviously be to enter into an agreement with that shower from across the park to build and share a new stadium.
No brainer. Simple.

HOWEVER. I personally, and probably many many others, DON'T do or even want sensible. eek

Anfield is a place of legends and history but we need to move with the times and get a 60/70 thousand seater. The amount of revenue this would generate would be fantastic for the club.

There are things to consider here i guess:

1: If there is the possibility Anfield can be developed, it might not be to 60,000 and would probably be at about its limit so we could no longer increase its capacity meaning that we would be back to square one in a few years time when we want a 70/80 thousand seater.

2: If you look at stadiums like the Emirates / City of Manchester, Reebok and the majority of brand new stadiums they are all designed in a way that means future expansion would be very difficult to actually do. The Emirates looks like a fantastic stadium but arsenal will be limited to 60,000 a long time, as the architecture simply won't allow development. This is something to take into consideration. Should we be looking at building a stadium like the emirates, which looks fantastic with its flowing roof and stands or should we be looking at a stadium that has the potential to allow future development? When you look at Old Trafford, the way they have developed it has meant there is always the option of further extension.

3: Ground Share with Everton - Could we all honestly build a fortress like we have at Anfield with the special atmosphere that only the kop can provide knowing that they will be playing there the week after!!! Financially the right option but the idea sends shivers down my spine!

The way football attendences are going I think we need to hold fire on a 60,000 seater stadium, if four years time it's going to cost 50 quid a ticket and that will stop thousands going more than whats dropping out now, even the biggest club in the world Man United are not selling out all there games now so if they cant what chance have the rest of us.

well considering our gloryhunting fans a few mid table finishes will probably send a few of our fans to Old Trafford anyway to watch United if they continue to be successful and we are struggling.
