Not as disgraceful as your spelling. Ronnie Whelan whealan is a disgraceful comparison ..masceranho is at a level way below whealan . ronnie was a clever player ,masceranho is a thick one.

Sorry, I do not believe Masch was close to great, reminded me of those enforcer types in hockey. Another problem of his was he has no passing skills or finesse on a team that really must have those skills to support the front ((Alonso-god I miss him, is world class) Every time he was on the pitch I was just praying he would not implode and do something stupid or worse shameful. World class? Perhaps in South America where they often beat the crap out of refs (at times warranted) and other players but not in this league.
Poulsen? Same, older and a bit slower which we know when beaten will resort to the ugly stuff. My only hope is that Roy knows he can keep him under a firm leash.

Masc is a good if not best defensive midfielder around. He times his tackle well and able read the game. The only flaws are his passes and bad mouth on the pitch. Bottom line is, he doesn't want to play for Liverpool no more. Its either you sell him between 25-30 million or let him rot on the bench. Having him on the pitch for the coming season is a big mistake. Having said that, who else you guys thing on the planet is better at the position now?

If anyone was compiling a "Top 100 Bullsh!t Posts on Koptalk" chart, this thread would contain a great deal of them. Masch is, in my humble opinion, the single most important member of the squad apart from Nando. Impossible to replace him, whoever we get will be inferior - it's just a matter of degree. Must admit though that his loyalty is gutter-level, and to leave for the sake of Benitez is just unreal. Didn't the Spanish tool regularly select Lucas ahead of him: the ultimate insult for any player?
However, he's not gone yet, and I'll happily retract any criticism if Woy works his magic, Monster sees sense and stays. I'll rejoice even more than after the signing of Joe Cole.
Masch is the modern-day version of Graeme Souness, minus the goals. Such praise will no doubt be lost on those members who are only old enough to remember Souness as a manager, but it's the highest I can give.
