Not even talking about the big spenders like City, Chelsea, United, now Newcastle etc, how is it that most clubs have better net spend than us?

Net spend over the last 5 year, 14 clubs have spent more than us and we must be having top 4 revenue generated, something is really wrong

I believe those stats are only up until 2018? bottom of page states 2018 and if you check other links on the site the most recent transfer window on there is summer 2019.

In Jan 2018 we sold Coutinho to Barcelona for 150m.

It's likely more up to date stats could be much worse/frugal than this.

It's fairly obvious at least from 2013 that our transfer budget is largely factored on player sales to be able to buy.

In this time period we have been fairly successful, which is all the more alarming that we haven't been able to use the revenue generated from success towards transfers/squad strengthening:

Premier League winners: 19/20
PL runners up: 13/14, 18/19, 21/22

Champions League winners: 18/19
CL runners up: 21/22, 17/18

FA Cup winners: 21/22

League Cup winners: 21/22
LC runners up: 15/16

Charity Shield winners: 22/23
CS runners up: 20/21, 19/20

Europa League runners up: 15/16

Super Cup winners: 19/20

World Club Cup winners: 2019

We've been a consistent in the money spinning Champions League in this time:

20/21 season got to Qtr Finals beaten by Real Madrid.
19/20 season got to Final stages to the round before Qtrs beaten by Atl Madrid.
14/15 season eliminated at group stage.

We've been the best domestic team in the World for near on 10 years...for our Accountants that is! Being able to hide revenue generated making us look like we are just keeping our heads above water.

We have been good but not best in the world. Real Madrid has. But yes, we should have more to show for what we have done
